IN-PERSON WORKSHOPFri - Sun, July 14 - 16, 20239:00 AM - 4:00 PMAll Levels | Colored Pencil
Join colored pencil expert, Kristy Kutch for this three-day workshop exploring the vibrant world of colored pencils. Each day we'll focus on a different type of pencil or techinque that will lead to unique results. We'll achieve vivid colors and fascinating textures with colored pencil techniques and tools. Rather than focusing on subject matter, we'll dive deep into using colored pencils to acheive your desired results.
Day 1: Explore the versatile beauty of "traditional" (waxy/oil) colored pencils on Bristol board and Stonehenge paper.
Day 2: Experiment with the unique appeal of colored pencil on toned (colored) surfaces.
Day 3: Focus on water soluble drawing material and techniques, with an introduction to watercolor pencils, watercolor paper, and Ampersand Aquaboard. Feel free to work on the colored pencil project of your choice.
The workshop structure will cover general guidelines for exploring colored pencil in its many dimensions, while allowing for flexibility and fun! Please feel welcome to portray a special subject or to spend more time on a certain project or series if you wish.
Note: There will be many demonstrator sets of colored pencils available for students to sample and borrow. Each student will leave with a sizable goody bag of free supplies! See the supply list for details.
